Distributor IBP Scandinavia increased its turnover by 30 per cent in 2024 and reached a profitability of almost 17 per cent. Demand for the company’s products is strong and several other brands now want to join IBP Scandinavia’s network.
“During 2025, we have already added new well-known brands to our portfolio to develop in the Nordic market, and more are waiting to join us,” says Said Saharkhiz, CEO of IBP Scandinavia.
Gothenburg-based IBP Scandinavia is the distribution company that takes a holistic approach to the products it is responsible for in the Nordic market — from logistics, through marketing communications to after-sales and customer service. It has proven to be a successful business model. Turnover increased from SEK 31 million in 2023 to SEK 40 million in 2024. Profit landed at SEK 6.8 million, corresponding to a profit margin of approximately 17 per cent.
“You could say that we are the brands’ extended arm in the Nordic market. This creates a sense of security for both product owners and retailers, as we build on the brand’s strengths and adapt them to Nordic conditions. This way, the brand communicates in the right way with its customers, both during the sales process and in after-sales,” says Said Saharkhiz.
The concept of taking a holistic approach as a distributor has attracted attention internationally from product owners — both those already established and those looking to enter the Nordic market. In a short time, two major brands have chosen to join IBP Scandinavia’s distribution network: baby tech company Owlet’s acclaimed baby monitor Dream Sock, where pharmacy chains are a new sales channel for the product.
“IBP’s way of representing brands in the Nordic market is perceived as innovative and forward-thinking, and we receive weekly enquiries from parties who want us to take on their products in our distribution chain. This shows that we are in the right place at the right time and can offer a complete solution that few others in the industry can match. I am convinced that we will see even more brands joining us in the very near future,” says Said Saharkhiz, CEO of IBP Scandinavia.
