IBP Scandinavia is the new distributor for baby tech company Owlet in the Nordic market. Owlet develops smart monitoring solutions for infants, including the award-winning smart baby sock Dream Sock. IBP Scandinavia is now developing Owlet’s distribution network, including getting pharmacies to start selling these products.
“We are proud that Owlet has chosen us as their partner to develop their distribution and nurture their innovative brand,” says Said Saharkhiz, CEO of IBP Scandinavia.
IBP Scandinavia is more than a distributor. They take a holistic approach to the products they represent in the Nordic market. This means that in addition to building distribution channels with retailers, IBP Scandinavia also takes responsibility for marketing and after-sales, in order to support product owners with the full picture.
“We act as an extension of the product owners,” says Said Saharkhiz.
American company Owlet develops smart monitoring solutions for infants. They have been present in the Nordic market for a couple of years but chose this spring to let IBP Scandinavia take over distribution. One of Owlet’s best-known products is Dream Sock.
Dream Sock is a smart baby monitor worn on the baby’s foot that measures oxygen levels and pulse rate during sleep. Via an app, parents can follow real-time data and receive notifications if any readings deviate. Dream Sock is CE-marked in the EU and classified as a medical device, but intended for home use on infants aged 0–18 months. Dream Sock has been internationally recognised as a best-in-test baby tech product.
One of IBP Scandinavia’s first focus areas is to broaden the distribution channels that carry Owlet’s products into specialist retail.
“Products like Dream Sock are CE-marked and therefore medically controlled and approved. They should naturally be part of the range at pharmacies. Several pharmacy chains have already signed up and others have shown strong interest,” says Said Saharkhiz.
